Probate and Estate Planning
What is a Will?

A will is a document in which you can specify who will receive your property after your death and who will be responsible to see that your estate is distributed. Included in your will might be instructions as how your assets should be distributed, who should be the guardian of your minor children and their affairs, any funeral arrangements you might have or desire, and who is to serve as the executor of your estate. Depending on the size and nature of the estate and testators wishes, a will may be very simple or very complex. Valid wills may be either handwritten or typed and, in Ohio, generally must be witnessed by two disinterested parties.
